- Manojit Mishra was born in a lower-middle-class Bengali family in Kolkata.
- After completing his high school, he enrolled at South Calcutta Law College, Kolkata in 2012 and was allegedly involved in a stabbing incident in 2013, leading to his expulsion in 2014.
- In 2017, he was re-admitted to the college and was accused of vandalising the principal’s office, and in 2019, he received a post in the Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad (TMCP).
- In 2021, he was removed from his TMCP post following complaints of bad behaviour and eventually graduated in 2022.
- In 2023, he returned to the college as a clerk and later as a contractual staffer for Rs 500 per day, and in October 2023, a student accused him of molestation during a college event.
- In April 2025, Mishra was arrested for assaulting a police officer and vandalising a police vehicle after an argument near an ATM.
- On 25 June 2025, a 24-year-old student alleged that Mishra and his associates assaulted her inside the college after proposing marriage, locking the gates, and taking her to a room near the union office.
