• In September 2023, he reportedly infiltrated into Kashmir, where he initially operating in Budgam, then Rajouri–Poonch area.

• He was involved in various major terror attacks in India, which includes Baramulla attack with fatalities among security personnel, Gagangir construction-site attack (2024), where seven civilians killed, and Pahalgam massacre (2025)

• He was recognized as the mastermind behind the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people, Indian tourists, were shot dead.

• On 28 July 2025, he was encountered in a joint counter-terror operation by the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police in the Dachigam (Harwan) area near Srinagar.

• He was reportedly napping in his hideout when neutralized along with two other terrorists.

• After the encounter ended, the army recovered weapons including AK‑47s, an M4 carbine, and 17 rifle grenades. Investigations used ballistics from these weapons which then confirmed his involvement in the Pahalgam massacre.
