Some Lesser Known Facts About Hina Khan

• She has completed her schooling at a government school.

• After finishing her graduation, Hina Khan worked as an Assistant Commercial Tax Officer in the GST department.

• According to her, she wanted to serve people, so she started preparing for civil service exams.

• In 2016, Hina Khan passed the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) exam.

• In 2018, she joined the state police, and her first posting was in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

• Later, Hina Khan was transferred to Gwalior, where she started working as the City Superintendent of Police (City SP).

• She then worked as a Sub-Divisional Police Officer in Ghatigaon, Madhya Pradesh, and then appointed as the Chief Superintendent of Police of the Gwalior University area.

• During a media talk, she said that her family was her biggest strength. She explained,
  

  I have a younger brother and two sisters, all of whom are lawyers. My father wanted me to become a police officer because my grandfather was in the military. So I decided to join the police force.”

• In October 2025, some people tried to put up a statue of Dr B.R. Ambedkar at the Madhya Pradesh High Court in Gwalior. However, some lawyers opposed the installation and made hurtful comments about Dr Ambedkar.

• After that, a police case was filed against these lawyers. Many other lawyers then protested against the arrest by reading the Sundara Kanda book at a temple without permission.

• Hina Khan warned them that gatherings were banned, but the lawyers became aggressive and chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ to pressure her. However, Khan joined in chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram,’ while raising her fist, and asked if they wanted anything else. She said,
  

  If you chant, I will too. But if you do it to exert pressure, that’s wrong.”

• Her chanting video went viral, and she was appreciated for her calm and brave act that stopped the tension and kept the peace during the situation.

• After that, Hina Khan told the media that she did this to maintain law and order, not to challenge any religion. She said,
  

  When I chanted “Jai Shri Ram,” I didn’t think much about it. It was a feeling in my heart. We both felt the same way, and I decided to show it. My first objective was to completely calm the situation, and dialogue is essential. If the protesters had become aggressive, the situation would have spiraled out of control. Everything I did was to maintain law and order and restore peace.”

• In her free time, she likes reading books and watching web series. She enjoys listening to old qawwalis and songs by Lata Mangeshkar.
