| Controversy | Legal Dispute with Former Producers: In 2018, Bishop Briggs ended her production deal with Mark Jackson and Ian Brendon Scott. The producers later sued her for breach of contract. Briggs, however, later countersued, stating she left due to ongoing verbal abuse in the studio. She said the behaviour became more controlling and dismissive as her career gained attention. Although she continued working for a period because she believed in the music, things shifted when songwriter Justin Tranter helped her see that such treatment was not normal. Briggs publicly shared her experience in an Instagram post on 11 March 2020 with the aim to bring attention to abuse within the music industry. [1]HITS 96.1 |
