  • Yuvraj Samra grew up in Brampton, Canada and started playing cricket at the age of seven or eight in the Toronto District Cricket Association.
  • His father, Baljit Samra, earlier played cricket and introduced him to the game during childhood. His mother, Hoshiar Samra, and father supported him by attending every practice and match regularly.
  • His father was in the restaurant business and spent significant time supporting his cricket training. Yuvraj began playing professional regional cricket at the age of sixteen or seventeen.
  • He trained daily and sometimes practiced three to four hours without refusing sessions. He often reviewed his own performances to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
  • At around ten years old, he scored his first century in an under-11 match at Flower City in Brampton. He hit a six on the last ball to complete that century against a GTA team.
  • During school years, he balanced academics and cricket training with family support. In grades 11 and 12, he shifted partly to online and private schooling to manage practice schedules.
