Some Lesser Known Facts About Aalia Neelum

In 1996, Aalia Neelum began practising law.

She became an advocate of the Supreme Court in 2008 and joined the Lahore High Court (LHC) in 2013. She became a permanent judge on 16 March 2015.

As a judge, Aalia Neelum has given more than 203 rulings. She is the first woman to be an administrative judge of anti-terrorism courts in the province.

She helped set up special courts for gender-based violence cases and developed procedures for recording evidence and statements in e-courts across Punjab, Pakistan.

Her practice and consulting work included Constitutional Law, White Collar Crime, Civil, Family, Criminal, Public Interest Litigation, NAB, Banking Offences, Special Central Courts Law, and Banking Laws.

In August 2024, members of the Pakistan Bar Council challenged Aalia Neelum’s appointment as Chief Justice of the Lahore Court.
