• Abhinav was born in a family of cricketers and was always desperate to play for Indian National team.

• Imitating the steps of Sachin Tendulkar, he scored a century in both his Ranji Trophy and Irani Trophy debut.

• In 2011, Abhinav got a call-up in the Indian team as an opener in the absence of Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir.

• He was a member of Indian Cricket team for two consecutive test series; one against West Indies and the second against England. However, he was dropped from the team and was never selected again.

• Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him in IPL 2013 but was not retained for the following seasons.

• As of January 2017, Mukund has smashed two triple tons in domestic cricket.
