• His father runs Geosphere Capital, a hedge fund management firm, as a managing partner.

• Aman Sanger became passionate about programming and artificial intelligence from a young age.

• In May 2019, Aman Sanger started working as a Software Engineering Intern at Google in New York City. The internship lasted for four months till August 2019.

• Aman Sanger then worked full-time in research at an AI consultancy in Greater Boston from October 2019 to September 2020.

• During his studies at MIT, he met Michael Truell, Sualeh Asif, and Arvid Lunnemark. The four launched the company ‘Anysphere’ in 2022.

• After that, both Aman Sanger and Truell were selected as Neo Scholars, a program that finds talented technical people and connects them with top Silicon Valley founders and investors.

• Initially, the team worked on creating an AI tool for computer-aided design. Then, the team shifted its focus to software engineering.

• This change led to the creation of Cursor, an AI-powered code editor that got worldwide attention in January 2022 in New York, United States.

• As of 2025, the company Anysphere, which included Cursor, was valued at approximately $29.3 billion after a big funding round. Each co-founder owned approximately a 4.5% share, worth over $1.3 billion.
