  • His family belongs to village Ghungrana in Ludhiana, Punjab, India.
  • Angad Singh Dhillon comes from a family with a long history of public service and community work.
  • His paternal great-grandfather, Gurnam Singh, was associated with the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). He was also a close associate of Sikh leader Master Tara Singh.
  • Reportedly, Gurnam Singh was among the early members of the SGPC and was associated with it in 1937.
  • His grandfather, Jagjit Singh Dhillon, was a farmer and a senior member in Akali Dal. He also served as chairman of the Punjab Agro Industries Corporation and was a member of the management board of Punjab Agricultural University.
