Some Lesser Known Facts About Ashok Raj Sigdel

• Ashok Raj Sigdel grew up in a middle-class family.

• His father, Bishwaraj Sigdel, first lived in Tanahun before relocating to Taulihawa and then Bhairahawa in Nepal.

• Ashok pursued his schooling in Kathmandu under the care of his maternal uncle. During this time, he also made a mark as a national-level boxer, Taekwondo athlete, and table tennis player.

• In 1986, he joined the Nepali Army and secured the top rank in the 25th Basic Course. He was later commissioned as a cadet.

• Over the years, he held several key positions, including Commandant of the Counter-Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School, Brigade and Division Commander, Military Assistant to the Chief of Army Staff, and Director of Military Operations.
