  • On 4 December 2025, Avadhut Sathe made headlines when SEBI banned him and his firm, Avadhut Sathe Trading Academy (ASTA), from the securities market.

  • SEBI issued a 125-page order, which told him to return Rs. 546 crore to investors as he collected over Rs. 601 crore from more than 3.37 lakh investors.

  • SEBI claimed that his academy earned money unlawfully and accused Sathe and his firm of spreading wrong information on social media.

  • It added that ASTA only shared stories and screenshots of selective successful trades to get new clients.
