Some Lesser Known Facts About Baljinder Singh
- Baljinder was born into an orthodox middle-class Hindu family of Haryana.
- He aspired to be a successful mechanical engineer, but he got into bad company and was even jailed in a murder case. As a consequence, his family eliminated him from his family, after which he went into depression and even wanted to commit suicide.
- According to him, when he was going through depression in the jail, he came in contact with a priest and got inclined towards Christianity. He also came across a life-changing experience when he had an encounter with Jesus Christ and heard a voice saying to him, “Now onwards, you will be my son and you will serve me.” This incident completely transformed his life after which he started serving people regardless of their caste, colour, race, and faith.
- On 20 March 2008, he got converted from Hinduism to Christianity and took Baptism.
- In 2012, he started holding Sunday prayer meetings for healing, with a healthy gathering of 2,000 people in initial days.
- Initially, he was a pastor of a church in Jalandhar district but in 2015, he moved to Chandigarh, and later, went on to become the President of The Church of Glory and Wisdom, Chandigarh.
- In May 2018, a woman volunteer of Baljinder from Punjab’s Zirakpur had filed an F.I.R. against Baljinder and his aides- Jatinder, Akbar, Sartar Ali, Sucha Singh, Rajesh Chaudhary, and Sandeep Pehlwan of raping her multiple times on pretext of taking her abroad and even recorded a video of it for blackmail. On 18 July 2018, the Zirakpur Police arrested Baljinder from the Delhi International Airport when he was about to board a flight for London to attend an event on 21 July 2018.
