Some Lesser Known Facts About Bhumika Sharma

Despite being the coach of Women Weightlifting Team, her mother was reluctant in letting Bhumika pursue the sport since bodybuilding is a male dominated sport. Her mother is also a Dronacharya awardee.

Bhumika’s parents wanted her to settle down as a shooter, but the fate had bodybuilding in its reserve.

While at a shooting event in Delhi, she met a bodybuilding coach, who inspired her not to drop her dreams down. This meeting proved out to be the turning point of her life.

Bhumika then stepped out of the shooting world and started a fresh life in bodybuilding, where she won medals regularly.

She follows a rigorous diet plan to stay fit and undergoes a 7-hour training at the gym under her mentor, Bhupendra Sharma.

In June 2017, while competing with over 50 others from across the globe, she became the first ever Indian woman to bag the Miss World Bodybuilding Championship, which took place in Venice.
