- Green was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease before birth. Doctors detected the condition when Green’s mother had a 19-week pregnancy scan.
- Since childhood, he has been careful about how much protein and sodium he consumes as part of his diet.
- In an interview, Green revealed he had to go to the hospital every week for treatment when he was a child.
- He grew up playing football and cricket in Subiaco, Perth.

- Green started playing cricket in the under-13s league in the 2009–10 season. At that time, he was 10 years old.

- In February 2017, Green made his first-class debut for WA against Tasmania at Bellerive Oval, Hobart during the Sheffield Shield. His career highlights include taking 5/24 in the first innings against Tasmania. The feat made him the youngest player to take a five-wicket haul in the Sheffield Shield.

- Green was bought by the Mumbai Indians for Rs. 17.5 crore (approximately $3.15 million AUD) for IPL 2023. He was the second most expensive overseas player in IPL auction history and the most expensive Australian player.
- On 21 May 2023, he scored his maiden IPL century, an unbeaten 100 off 47 balls in a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
