• Gautam Rangarajan was born and brought up in London, England.

• His father, L.N. Rangarajan was a well-known Indian diplomat. He served as India’s ambassador to several nations, including Sudan, Tunisia, Greece, Norway, and Iceland.

• His mother, Joyce Millward was a professional musician and cellist, who played a significant role in Gautam’s early passion in music.

• Gautam’s brother, Vijay Rangarajan is a British public servant, serving as the Chief Executive pf the UK Electoral Commission.

• Inspired by his mother, Rangarajan studied Music at the University of Cambridge and completed his Bachelor’s degree with First Class Honour.

• In 1993, Gautam began his professional career at the BBC where he joined as a trainee producer with BBC Radio’s classical music department.
