  • In 2003, Ghanem al-Dosari left his hometown, Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia, and moved to England to pursue computer science studies at the University of Portsmouth.

  • On the show, he often makes fun of Saudi leaders, such as King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed. He calls King Salman ‘Salmanco,’ who runs the country as his own business, and he defines Crown Prince Mohammed as ‘al-Dub al-Dasher,’ which means a fat piece of bread or the tubby teddy bear.

  • In his videos, Ghanem al-Dosari often shares secret information about the royal family and its human rights abuses. He often encourages people to protest against the Saudi government.

  • Once, Saud al-Qahtani, a Saudi advisor, accused him of visa fraud in Saudi Arabia.

  • On 15 September 2017, he started a protest called the ‘September 15 Movement’ across Saudi Arabia. A huge crowd participated in the protest.

  • The protest was conducted during the Qatar crisis, which gathered more support than ever before. As a result, the protests made Saudi authorities nervous.

  • After the protests, Saudi leaders arrested more than 20 top religious leaders, including Salman al-Ouda and Awadh al-Qarni.

  • Saudi leaders called them Qatar supporters, who were helping Ghanem al-Dosari through their social media following.

  • After that, many news outlets reported that Prince Abdulaziz bin Mashour threatened to behead Ghanem al-Dosari. Prince Abdulaziz bin Mashour is a brother of Sarah bint Mashhoor bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the wife of Mohammad bin Salman.

  • On 31 August 2018, Ghanem al-Dosari was attacked in front of Harrods department store in London. Reportedly, two men attacked him while shouting at him. They said,

    Who are you to talk about the family of al-Saud?”

    al-Dosari replied to the attackers that they were not in Riyadh, but in London. After that, one of the two men replied,

    F*** London, their Queen is our slave and their police are our dogs.”

  • According to Ghanem al-Dosari, the attackers were Saudis who were trying to scare him because of his human rights work and political views.

  • The attackers punched him in the face. After that, he received treatment in an ambulance.

  • When the doctors were treating al-Dosari, a third man approached his friend and tried to bribe him not to report the attack. The friend thought that this man was another Saudi agent.

  • In October 2018, Scotland Yard, the headquarters of the Metropolitan Police in London, started an investigation into the attack and interviewed Ghanem al-Dosari. During this investigation, al-Dosari said,

    I think they are taking it seriously now after Jamal Khashoggi.”

  • In 2018, reportedly, some hackers targeted him with Pegasus spyware on his phones. In a media interview, he claimed that Saudi authorities were behind the hack.

  • On 28 May 2019, his lawyer filed a claim against the Saudi embassy in London.
