Controversies | • Irregularities In The Selection Of His Relatives In The Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS): In 2021, Dotasra came under public scrutiny after it was discovered that his three relatives had received the same marks in the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) exam. Dotasra’s daughter-in-law had received 80 marks in the interview for RAS-2016, and her brother and sister had received the same marks in the RAS-2018 interview. Consequently, The Rajasthan BJP demanded the resignation of state Congress president and education minister Govind Singh Dotasra over allegations of irregularities in the selection of his relatives in the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS). The party also demanded an investigation into the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) affairs. Later, the BJP Yuva Morcha members held a demonstration against Dotasra, accusing him of influencing the interview process of the RAS recruitment examinations for his relatives. They raised questions regarding how the scores of his daughter-in-law's siblings, who scored less than 50 per cent marks in the written examination, improved significantly in the interview round. However, Dotasra denied the allegations and said that the exam for selection to the Rajasthan Administrative Services is conducted in a transparent manner and only capable children succeed in it. [3]The Times of India • Slammed For Sexist Comments: In 2021, while speaking at an event to celebrate International Girl Child Day in Jaipur, Dotasra stirred a controversy with his remarks when he said that there are more quarrels in schools that have more female teachers. Further in his speech, Dotasra said, "If you correct these small things [mistakes], you will always find yourselves ahead of men." Consequently, the BJP Mahila Morcha held a protest march against Dotasra and burnt his effigy on the occasion of Dussehra. [4]The Times of India • Slammed For Remarks on Maharana Pratap: In 2022, while addressing party workers at a district-level training camp in Nagaur, Dotasra said the battle between Maharana Pratap and Akbar was a power struggle, but the BJP has given it a “religious” colour. He said, "In school syllabus, BJP portrayed the war between Maharana Pratap and Akbar as a religious war between Hindus and Muslims. It was a power struggle. They see everything through the Hindu-Muslim prism." Accusing Congress of doing appeasement politics, the BJP targeted Dotasra and demanded an apology from him. The Congress claimed that Dotasra had insulted the great Indian warrior who sacrificed his life to protect the pride of the motherland. [5]The Free Press Journal |

Former UNICEF policy planner KB Kothari, reacting to the move, said,
The state has neither diagnosed the problem, nor is the treatment on [proper] line. Removing male teachers below 50 from just 1,019 girls schools is an easy achievable task. But the move will spark fear among the parents and girl students who are enrolled in the rest 95% of schools.”
