- His mother was a netball player, and his father was a semi-professional tennis player.

- At the age of 7, he earned a yellow belt in Karate. In 2010, he got his purple belt, and in 2012, he earned a black belt in Karate.
- At 9, he started playing junior cricket at Boroondara Cricket Club. He played every year in Boroondara’s A teams, from Under 12A’s in the 2011/12 season to Under 16A’s in season 2017/18 over 7 seasons.
- In his early junior career, he also played representative cricket for the Eastern Cricket Association (ECA) and the Inner East Emus.
- In 2013, Fraser-McGurk represented Victoria’s under-12 team at the School Sport Australia national championships for the first time. He was batter-keeper and opening bowler Victoria. He also represented Victoria in the following season. Victoria won gold in both seasons.
