Some Lesser Known Facts About Kavi Shastri

Kavi Shastri was born and brought up in London. According to him, he was never good at studies as well as sports.

He grew an interest in dancing at a tender age. His parents understood his interest and enrolled him in a local dance academy. He is a trained in ballet, tap dancing, drama, hip hop, musical theatre, jazz and a few more dance forms.

Along with dancing he also joined ‘The Padmini Kholapuri School of Acting’ in London, where he started acting in small plays and theatre.

Kavi Shastri was still in school when he did small appearances on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ and BBC One’s ‘Holby City’. Later he also became a part of the three seasons of CBBC’s ‘UGetMe’ (2003) and many other British film projects.

After graduating Kavi Shastri came to India and joined Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares for improving his acting skills.

When Kavi Shastri was graduated in performing arts he was also awarded by the Academy for his achievement in Drama.

He created India’s first Comedy Company ‘Weirdass Comedy’ (2010) along with his friend Vir Das, with whom he had met on the sets of ‘Love Aaj kal’ (2009).

He has also worked as a scriptwriter for Filmfare Awards, Zee Cine Awards and Stardust Awards.

Kavi Sharma also became popular for his standup comedy with Vir Das in the ‘Ashvin Gidwani’s History of India’ (2014) comedy show.
