Some Lesser Known Facts About Parakh Madan

• Parakh Madan is an Indian actor who mainly works in Bollywood and television series. She gained recognition for her roles in television series such as ‘Qurbaan Hua’ (2020-2021) and ‘Meet: Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet’ (2022-2023).

• Parakh has had a passion for dancing since her early years. She actively participated in many extra-curricular activities during her school days.

• According to her, she started learning Kathak at the age of 6 under the guidance of the dancer Manju Malkani (deceased) in Ranchi. After about 12 years, Parakh relocated to Delhi for further studies.

• She joined renowned dancer and composer Birju Maharaj‘s institute ‘Kalashram’ in New Delhi in 2002-2003 and later started performing at various events. Parakh even gave some performances alongside Birju Maharaj. In an interview, she talked about learning Kathak from Birju Maharaj and said,
  

  My personal equation with Maharaj ji had evolved over the years of learning from him, spending time with him and just observing him. When I joined Kalashram in 2002-2003, he used to say that my dance style was very robotic and military like. It was only after 6-7 years of training under him did he finally say, “ab tumhare dance mein ras aa gaya hai.” And thereafter, whenever he would introduce me to anyone in a room, he would say, “ye meri bohot khaas hai.” And of course, every time that happened, I swelled with joy and pride.”

•  While talking about Parakh, in an interview, Mahesh Bareja, the principal of Delhi Public School, Ranchi, said that the school’s faculty was surprised to learn about her recognition in the television and modelling industries.

• Parakh Madan has participated in numerous beauty pageants. She has collaborated as a model with various brands and magazines as well. She was featured as “hot stuff” in Mumbai Times City in 2005.

• Parakh took part in the Ponds Femina Miss India contest in January 2006. She was crowned as Streax Savvy Cover Girl on 2 April 2006; the event took place in Mumbai. She got a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 as well.

• According to her, she was offered the role of Suman in the television series ‘Saathii Re’ after she won the Streax Savvy Cover Girl contest. She, however, had to request the team to postpone the audition as she was diagnosed with chickenpox.

• After making her debut in Bollywood in 2006, Parakh appeared in a romantic black comedy film titled ‘Dev.D’ (2009). She played the role of Rasika Singh in the film. In 2019, she appeared as Preeti’s sister in the film ‘Kabir Singh.’

• Madan has worked in some television series as well. She appeared as ‘Krishna’ in StarPlus’ comedy-drama series ‘Burey Bhi Hum Bhale Bhi Hum’ and ‘Inspector Monica Mogre’ in Zee TV’s thriller series ‘Monica Mogre’ in 2009.

• In 2009, Parakh Madan accused producer Yash Patnaik of not paying her salary for the television series ‘Monica Mogre’ from August 2008 to January 2009. Yash, on the other hand, claimed that the show was supposed to air on Zee Next in July 2008, but it got postponed, and in November 2008, Zee Next closed down, and the series was rescheduled to air for the channel Zee. According to Yash, it was later decided that Parakh would receive a monthly salary until the show aired in September 2008, but she didn’t sign the contract and disappeared, which caused a loss of about Rs. 5 lakh. ^[4]The Times of India

• Parakh Madan took a break from work for about two years after she was diagnosed Fever of Unknown Origin (FUO). Upon recovering, she made a comeback with the series ‘Qurbaan Hua’ in 2020 in which she appeared as Gazala Rahil Baig.

• She then appeared in many other daily soap operas such as Masoom Ahlawat in ‘Meet: Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet’ (2022-2023), and Renu Sinha in ‘Kavya – Ek Jazbaa, Ek Junoon’ (2023). Parakh once took part in a rock star hunt show, which aired on Discovery Channel. She later emerged as the winner of the show.

• Parakh Madan loves animals, especially dogs. Her love for them is evident through her social media posts.

• According to Parakh, she prefers Adidas and Reebok for casual sneakers, while she chooses Citywalk for formal footwear like heels. In addition to this, she likes to buy mojaris from Delhi.

• If she hadn’t pursued acting, she would have become a fashion designer.

• Parakh Madan loves going on road trips, especially with her husband. In an interview, she mentioned that one of her most memorable trips was from Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir, to Leh. She recalled an incident where a couple, they gave a lift to, almost robbed them during a trip from Mumbai to Delhi. The robbers, however, fled when their car was stopped at a checkpoint.
