Controversy	• Hit and run case In April 2015, Kavita Jain's car ran over two brothers riding a motorbike, which left them severly injured. The victim's family alleged that they were able to file a FIR only after continuously requesting the police for 2 days. The family claimed that they were being pressurised not to file any complaint and settle the matter directly with the minister. Later, Kavita Jain denied these allegations and said that she was not present in the car during the accident but would pay for the medical expenses on behalf of her driver. [1]Hindustan Times

• In August 2012, Kavita Jain led a protest against the district administration of Sonipat after it was announced that 55,000 families, which were previously registered under the BPL (Below Poverty Line) list, would be removed.
