- Kavya Madhavan was born in a Malayali Family in the Nileshwar town of Kasaragod, Kerala. Times of India
- During her childhood, she took the training of the Bharatanatyam and Mohinyattam Classical dance forms.
- Kavya Madhavan was taught classical dances by her mentors Guru Shyamala and Guru Kuttamathu Janardhanan Maash.
