• In May 2004, she started working as a radio presenter at Desi Radio for the Thursday show Bhangra Roadshow. She was also nominated for “Best Radio Presenter” at the UK Bhangra Awards 2014.

• From November 2005 to August 2010, she worked at Hounslow Community Services Ltd, Hounslow as an arts and events assistant and acting arts officer.

• In 2008, she worked as a freelance radio presenter and producer at Asian FX and hosted the show Weekday Breakfast.

• From 2008 to 2013, as a consultant, she freelanced in the Public sector, Local enterprise, Culture & Arts, and Community.

• In 2010, she started working as an event consultant and manager at HECRA Festival in West London. In the same year, she also organised events at Hounslow Multi-Cultural Centre.

• In the same year, she met Bobby Jandu face-to-face for the first time at her friend’s bachelorette party. When she introduced herself, he did not recognize her. However, she thought that due to loud music in the club, he could not hear her.

• She continued chatting with him on Facebook. A few months later, Bobby told her that he was filing a divorce from his first wife. Then, for a few months, he did not message her.

• Meanwhile, in 2012, she worked as an event producer at various events in the Hounslow Multi-Cultural Centre.

• Kirat also worked as a conferencing and events operations manager at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, London from 2012 to 2016.

• A few months after Bobby’s divorce, Bobby messaged her on Facebook that after getting divorced from his first wife, he got engaged to a girl named Sanj.

• She then received a friend request from Sanj on Facebook. Soon, Kirat and Sanj became good friends. In 2013, while Kirat was scrolling through Facebook, she saw a post of Sanj that Bobby was shot six times after which he was admitted to a hospital.

• One day while she was at work, she got a call from Simran who told her that Bobby was in a witness protection hospital in New York as he had a threat to his life and needed security.

• A few days later, she received a message from Bobby’s second Facebook account. He texted her that after the incident, he got divorced from his wife Sanj. Kirat supported him during that period.

• During that time, she broke up with her boyfriend after dating each other for around 18 years.

• Kirat continued chatting with Bobby on Facebook and even connected through a few relatives and friends of Bobby.

• After chatting on Facebook for around four years, Bobby messaged Kirat that he was in love with her. Gradually, she also fell in love with him.

• While Bobby was in the witness protection hospital, he suffered a stroke after which he could not speak. So, instead of voice calls, they continued chatting with each other. After being in a relationship for a few months, Bobby proposed to her for marriage.

• A few days later, Bobby told her that his ex-wife Sanj was expecting a child with Bobby.

• On hearing the news, Kirat was shattered as she felt cheated. However, Bobby convinced her that he loved only Kirat.

• Meanwhile, Kirat was in contact with her cousin Simran Bhogal who kept her updated about all the activities of Bobby.

• After he recovered, Kirat used to call Bobby for a meeting, but he used to make excuses. He soon became very aggressive and over-possessive about her.

• He even insisted her to leave her job.

• Later, when Kirat forced him to meet her, he travelled to her hometown and stayed in a hotel nearby. However, he avoided meeting her.

• She got so upset over this that she decided to visit the hotel where he was living. After reaching there, she was shocked to know that no person with the name Bobby was staying there.

• She then contacted a private investigator to get the details of Bobby. She then got the address of Bobby through the mail from the private investigator.

• On reaching the given address, she saw Bobby, his wife Sanj, and their son together. She was shocked to see them together. She started confronting Bobby, but Bobby refused to recognise her.

• Bobby and his wife said that they would call the police. Kirat then returned home and contacted her cousin Simran. Kirat told Simran that she would call the police to take action against Bobby. However, Simran refused to do so.

• Simran then reached Kirat’s home and told her that Bobby was innocent and said that she was the one who did everything. She made a fake account of Bobby, Sanj, and all his relatives. Simran catfished (when a person takes information and images, typically from other people, and uses them to create a new identity for themselves) Kirat, but she did not give any reason for this.

• Kirat then collected all the proofs and contacted a lawyer to take some action against Simran. Since then, Kirat has been spreading awareness of catfishing through various campaigns.

• In an interview, Kirat said that after the incident she faced various medical issues. She was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and after various therapies, she gradually recovered.

• After the incident, from August 2018 to November 2018, Kirat worked as a consultant Head UK & Europe at Jus Punjabi Channel, West London.

• As an artistic director, she joined Punjabi Arts in London.

• In January 2019, she started working at H’Art 80 Ltd as a freelance consultant in marketing, events & media relations. In 2022, she was promoted to director in the same organisation.

• From December 2018 to June 2020, she volunteered at an NGO named Nishkam SWAT.

• Kirat has appeared in various podcasts and TV shows which discuss her catfish incident.

• In 2020, she decided to take a civil action against Simran. She was paid compensation by Simran along with an apology.

• An English podcast series titled Sweet Bobby- Inside the Sam was released in 2021.
