Controversy	Accused of Drug Trafficking In June 2023, on charges of drug trafficking, he was arrested by the Cyberabad police. The officers claimed that he was connected to a Nigerian drug dealer named Petit Ebuzer and had purchased 100 sachets of cocaine from the dealer before he returned from Goa. Later, the officers seized 90 sachets of cocaine, Rs 2,05,000 cash, four mobile phones, and a four-wheeler from KP Chowdary's possession. ^[1]India Today

Before entering the film industry, he worked as the operations director at the Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering and Technology in Pune.

After producing the Tamil film Kabali (2016), he came into the limelight.

He acquired the distribution rights for Telugu films such as Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (2013), Sardar Gabbar Singh (2016) and the Tamil film Kanithan (2016).

Later, he became the owner of the club OHM Anjuna in Goa.

According to sources, he went into depression after he got involved in a high-profile drug case in 2023.

On 3 February 2025, he was found dead by the owner of the rented house after his friends informed the owner to find him as he did not answer their messages or calls.

Later, the police officers found a suicide note in the bedroom where KP Chowdary had written he was killing himself due to depression and no one should be held responsible for his death. It also mentioned that his dead body should be handed over to his mother in Tamil Nadu.
