Some Lesser Known Facts About Kush Maini

  • Kush Maini was born in a family of race drivers as his father, Gautam Maini, a noted industrialist, was a race driver in his youth. His elder brother, Arjun Maini, is also a race driver.
  • His father made him play sports, cricket, football, basketball, swimming and many others before asking him to choose, but he always liked racing.
  • He was only 10 years old when he won his first race in the Indian National Championship.
  • After 5 years of racing in go-kart championships till 2015, he decided to race in other formats.
  • He later moved to the United Kingdom to learn from professional trainers and also lived in Switzerland for some time.
  • He started his single-driver racing career in 2016 with BVM Racing in the Italian F4 Championship. In 2017, he changed his team to Jenzer Motorsport and finished 8th in the season.
  • He signed with Lanan Racing in 2018 and moved to the British Formula 3 Championship, where he scored 8 podium finishes and ended 3rd in the season.
  • In 2019, he signed with M2 Competition and raced in the Formula Renault Eurocup.
  • He wanted to switch to R-ace GP in the same championship in 2020, but the first phase of COVID-19 forced him to Hitech Grand Prix in the British F3 series.
