Controversy | Comments on Use of Allopathic Medications And Treating Mental Illnesses In 2023, Lena made headlines for controversial remarks in which she criticized the allopathic treatment methods of psychologists and psychiatrists. Some Lesser Known Facts About Lena
- Lena’s father wanted her to be named Leena when she was born. However, in a letter sent to Lena’s mother, Tina, he mistakenly spelt her name Lena, which went on to become her actual name.
- Lena started writing scripts for plays during her school days. This caught the attention of her principal, who then recommended her to the director of her debut Malayalam film.
- She learnt Bharatanatyam for several years when she was in school.
- When she was in school, Lena was caught driving a two-wheeler without a license by the cops who asked her to visit the police station later. The cops came to her house after she failed to show up at the police station and took her, along with her father, to the station.
- In class 12th boards, Lena got a state-level ranking.
- After completing BSc, Lena entered the Malayalam film industry as an actor.
- She later quit acting to pursue her further education in Psychology.
- After completing formal education, she began working as a psychologist at a hospital in Mumbai. She left the job later as she was not content with it. In an interview, she talked about it and said,
It was very draining and disturbing. Dealing with people who are disturbed is very strenuous. I was planning to do my doctorate in psychology, but I realised it was not for me. Acting is more enjoyable, besides it pays well too.”
