Controversy | The Hindenburg Report In August 2024, Hindenburg Research published a report in which they accused Madhabi and her husband of siphoning money and owing shares in obscure offshore entities used in Adani money siphoning scandal, which was revealed by Hindenburg in January 2023. The firm also claimed that Madhabi did not conduct an investigation into the fraud accusations against Adani as she has stakes in the Adani Group as well. She was also accused of owning many investment consultancy companies while serving as the Chief of SEBI. Madhabi, however, later denied the allegations against her with SEBI backing her stating "23 out of 24 cases of the fraud by Adani Group has been completed, with the 24th case coming to a closure." It’s an unfailing formula. You deliver in one job and people who matter will notice it and praise you for it. And the next opportunity just arises. People are willing to take chance with you; they are willing to risk important assignments to you.”
