  • In 1967, Mark Hyman moved to Toronto with his mother and sister.
  • While pursuing his graduation at Cornell University, he majored in Chinese Medicine and aspired to move to China to study it further; however, he later decided not to do so as he didn’t want to spend his 20s in a fascist dictatorship. Later, he completed his MD with the academic honour of Magna Cum Laude.
  • He has also majored in Buddhism and studied Medicine Buddha.
  • Mark Hyman began his medical career as a family doctor in Idaho and later began working as an emergency department physician in Massachusetts in the United States of America.
  • In 1996, he began working as the co-medical director at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts. He worked there till 2011.
  • After working as a co-medical director for 10 years, he established The UltraWellness Center in a small shopping mall in Lenox.

  • In December 2013, Hyman co-authored a book titled “The Daniel Plan” with Pastor Rick Warren and Daniel Amen which was later ranked one in the New York Times bestseller list.
  • Hyman is often seen advocating the controversial alternative medicine known as Functional Medicine.
