ControversyFight with Pakistani bowler Shaheen Afridi

On 12 February 2025, during the 3rd ODI match of the tri-series against Pakistan, he was batting with the captain Temba Bavuma. During the 29th over, Shaheen Afridi was bowling when he played one ball and made a gesture to a Pakistani fielder by swinging his bat, after which the bowler approached him and had a verbal spat. Later in the over, Afridi also obstructed his path while running a single. Afridi was later given a demerit point and fined 25% of his match fee for violating the Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
