• He studied Physics at the University of Cambridge where he used a lot of time acting and performing comedy with the Cambridge footlights.

• He then became an actor at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and later came back to Belfast in order to establish his career on stage and screen.

• During the initial years of his career, he made repeated stage work. He played in the Royal Shakespeare Company in Measure for Measure and The Taming of the Shrew.

• He also starred in Othello at the Abbey Theatre and starred in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged in Bruiser NI.

• He occasionally also took on television roles, such as in Game of Thrones, Krypton, Soft Border Patrol, The Keeper and Bravery Under Fire.

• In 2016, Game of Thrones cast him as a Wildling in a season 6 episode. It was one of his most popular screen performances.

• The performance was nominated in the Dublin fringe as the best show less than one hour. It was also a winner of a Summerhall Lustrum Award at Edinburgh Fringe.

• He turned it into a BBC television series, but could not take on the lead role himself as he was too old (at 30) to portray someone at 15.

• During his performance at the Dublin Fringe festival in October 2022, Patrick started to fall and trip on stage when dancing.

• He continued to fault his shoes then. A family friend recommended to visit a doctor since his family has a history of motor neurone disease (MND).

• He was unable to move his right foot or even point his toes upwards by the time he reached doctors.

• In February 2023, he was officially diagnosed with MCD by doctors. He publicly declared it on social media, saying that the illness at the time only showed itself in his legs.

• Since October 2022, his right leg had symptoms. His announcement was not yet affected by the fact on his upper body.

• He further remarked that his father too had passed away due to the same illness. This announcement was his way of creating awareness and promoting the donation towards the MND Association charity.

• Patrick subsequently joined a clinical drug trial two days after he married Naomi Sheehan in September 2023.

• In a few weeks he noted the initial improvement in symptoms, and he started to move again, as he had been unable to do before the onset of his illness.

• He was able to wiggle his right foot and toes, the first time it had happened in some two years. He posted this in the podcast, Brain and Life.

• In 2023, Patrick starred in The Tragedy of Richard III at the Lyric Theatre Belfast. He played with the use of his wheelchair in scenes which the king was captured riding a horse and he was part of the performance.

• In 2024, Patrick featured in three episodes of This Town, a BBC drama series by Peaky Blinders producer Steven Knight.

• He also appeared in one episode of the BBC drama Blue Lights. He was a star in two children comedy series on RTE, Blasts from the Past and Mythical Heroes by Bernard Dunne.
