  • He made his First-Class debut in 2008 for Dhaka Division against Chittagong Division at Fatullah in the National Cricket League.
  • Mominul’s List-A debut came for the Dhaka Division against Barisal Division at Savar in 2009.
  • Mominul was part of Bangladesh’s Under-19 squad for the 2010 U-19 World Cup in New Zealand. In the same year, he was included in the National Cricket Academy.
  • Mominul’s turning point in his career came during the Bangladesh A team’s tour of the West Indies series; he scored 150 runs in the very first match of the series. Later, his back-to-back centuries in the domestic circuit earned him a call from the national team.
  • Mominul played for Barisal Burners (now Fortune Barishal) in the first season of the Bangladesh Premier League in 2012.

  • Mominul scored a half-century in his debut test innings against Sri Lanka at Galle in 2013; he scored 55 runs off 83 balls.
  • Mominul’s maiden test century came against New Zealand in Chittagong in 2013. He scored 181 in the innings, the highest-ever maiden century scored by a Bangladeshi batter.
  • After his brilliant performances during the Bangladesh vs New Zealand series, Mominul was rewarded with a monetary prize of Tk200,000 by the then State Minister for Youth and Sports Ahad Ali Sarkar in 2013.
  • Mominul was named the captain and led the Bangladesh A side in 2015.
  • He is the fastest Bangladeshi batter to reach the 1000-run mark in test cricket; it took him 21 innings to reach the milestone.

  • In 2024, Mominul made headlines after he scored a test-century against India during the Bangladesh tour of India series. He also became the second batsman from Bangladesh’s side to score a test century against India.
