Her father wanted her to play wrestling but later agreed with Monika to let her play hockey.

She started playing hockey at Government School, Sector 44, before she joined the Chandigarh Hockey Academy (CHA) in Chandigarh.

In 2018, she was part of the Commonwealth Games, where team India secured the fourth position.

In 2020, she was selected for the Tokyo Olympics, where team India secured fourth position.
