• After completing her graduation in Hindustani vocal music, she worked as a music teacher at Bal Bharti Public School, Pusa Road, New Delhi. Later, she shifted to Mumbai with her husband and daughters.

• Her elder daughter Akriti is known for her songs, “Saturday Saturday” from the film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and “Iski Uski” from 2 States (2014). She was a judge on Zee Bangla’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: Li’l Champs (2014).
