  • Raimohan Parida was an Indian actor and theatre play (jatra) director, who mainly appeared in Bengali and Odia films. On 24 June 2022, he allegedly committed suicide in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
  • He started his career as an actor, and he came into the limelight with the Bengali film ‘Sagar’ (1987). He acted in more than 100 Odia and Bengali films like ‘Singha Bahini’ (1998), ‘Suna Bhauja’ (1994), and ‘Mental’ (2014) for which he gained immense popularity. He mainly played negative characters in various films.

  • His dialogue “Heiti Anani Jyoti Mashtrani” became a famous meme on social media channels.
  • He also worked as an artist in various theatre plays or jatras. He played villain roles in various jatras and became very popular.
  • On 24 June 2022, reportedly, he hanged himself and committed suicide at his residence in Prachi Vihar, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Later, his body was sent to the Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar for post-mortem. According to the media source, he sent a ‘bye’ text to his wife and daughters before committing suicide.
