- Ramita Jindal is an Indian Air Rifle sports shooter. She came into the limelight in 2022 when she won a silver medal in the women’s 10-metre air rifle team and a bronze medal in the 10 m air rifle in the 2022 Asian Games organised in Hangzhou, China.
- Ramita began her journey in sports shooting at the age of 13 when she was studying in the 8th grade. Initially, she received training at the Karan Shooting Academy in Ladwa, Haryana, where she practised for a couple of hours every day under coach Jagbir Singh. Later, she received professional training at the GFG (Gun for Glory) academy in Chennai.
- During her school days, Ramita Jindal achieved 2nd and 3rd place in district and state-level matches, earning her a spot in national competitions.
- In 2019, she won a bronze medal in the CBSE National Championship held at SS International School, Kunjpura Road, Karnal.
- Ramita Jindal then won a bronze medal at the 2021-22 Junior World Championship held in Lima, Peru, and earned one gold and two silver medals at the 2022 International Junior World Cup.
- Ramita Jindal is a fitness enthusiast. Once, in a media conversation, she shared that she regularly practised breathing exercises and yoga to keep herself relaxed and calm. Ramita Jindal said,
I worked with a psychologist — Gayatri Vartak. She helps me with all the techniques. I do all the breathing exercises and yoga in the morning. It helps me in keeping myself relaxed and calm.”
- In 2022, Ramita Jindal won two gold medals at the World Championship in Cairo in the 10m Air Rifle Women’s event and the team event. She also secured a gold medal at the 2022 World Cup in Baku in the team event as well as a silver medal at the 2022 World Cup in Changwon in the team event.
