  • In 2023, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) cleared the largest shareholder of Religare Enterprises and the promoters of the Dabur Group, the Burmans, from any wrongdoing in a case filed against them.
  • In 2024, the ED accused Rashmi Saluja and other senior officials of creating a plan to falsely accuse the Burmans of misusing funds from Religare.
  • According to the agency officials, the investigation into the 2023 case revealed that the accused officials paid Rs. 2 lakh to a person named Vaibhav Jalinder Gawali to buy 500 Religare shares worth Rs. 1.20 lakh.

  • The complaint was reportedly filed to stop the Burman family from taking control of the Religare Group. It was also intended to protect the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) shares, valued at Rs. 179.5 crore.
  • The complaint stated that Rashmi Saluja and her co-officials Aggarwal and Singhal played an active role in getting the FIR registered. Their actions were aimed at blocking or restricting the change in ownership of Religare.
