• Sahana Bajracharya is a Nepalese model, VJ, producer, and TV presenter.

• After she decided to enter the modelling world, she dropped out of college.

• She started her modelling career by entering the Miss Nepal 2008 pageant. However, due to protests by female Maoists against the competition, it was eventually cancelled.

• Following her involvement in Miss Nepal 2008, she secured a contract with Dabur Special-Lite Hair Oil. Sahana has also been featured in numerous advertisements for brands like Sprite, Pashupati Paints, and Ganapati Jewellers. She has also appeared in an advertisement for Ruslan Vodka.

• In 2011, Sahana participated as a contestant in the Miss Asia Pacific World beauty contest, where she made it to the top 15. She was also selected to represent Nepal in Miss Supertalent of the World 2011, held in South Korea.

• Sahana has been a show-stopper for several shows of fashion designer Tenzin Tseten Bhutia. She has also appeared on the covers of numerous magazines.

• In 2009, she was approached by the National Democratic Institute to host an interview-based talk show focused on women’s issues, marking her first role as a presenter in media with ‘Yugantaar.’

• In 2010, she began to host Image Channel’s reality TV show ‘Mega Model Season 2,’ a program similar to ‘America’s Next Top Model.’

• Later, she began her career as a video jockey (VJ) for Kantipur Television Network’s show ‘Frame by Frame,’ which covered movie news and gossip; however, she was fired from Kantipur Television Network, leading her to join Nepal Television Network (NTV), where she hosted the ‘Namaste TV’ show.

• Sahana is also a social activist, who often visits rural areas in Nepal to hear the stories of people living there and offer help. In western Nepal, there exists a menstrual taboo known as ‘Chaupadi,’ which restricts girls on their periods from engaging in ordinary household tasks because they are considered impure. They are told to stay in a cattle shed or a small hut referred to as a menstruation hut. Sahana has actively contributed to the fight against the Chaupadi practice, working to protect women from living in harsh, unsanitary, and dangerous conditions.

• In 2014, she became the first woman to appear on the cover page of TNM (The Nepali Man) magazine, the first complete men’s magazine in Nepal.
