  • Sanket Sawant joined the local team Amar Krida Mandal in Jijamata Nagar, Mumbai, Maharashtra, where he began playing kabaddi. He was an all-around player as well as a defender. In Maharashtra, he also played for the Dena Bank team in regional competitions.
  • He played for Mumbai City in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Kabaddi Tournament in December 2018, where he won the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Cup.

  •  In 2019, he played in the Pro Kabaddi League for the first time with it’s season 7. He played a total of 5 matches during the tournament. He maintained a tackle strike rate of 33 per cent and earned 7 points overall in the tournament.

  • In numerous national Kabaddi competitions, Sanket Sawant played for the Mumbai City team. He became captain of the Mumbai City team in December 2022, and the team won the 70th Maharashtra State Kabaddi Championship 2022. For the Pro Kabaddi League’s ninth season in 2022, Puneri Paltan once again retained Sanket Sawant for a price of Rs. 12.50 lakhs. He played in the tournament in 24 matches during season 9. Throughout the tournament, he scored 30 points overall while maintaining a 34% tackle strike percentage.

  • He received the Best Defender Award in March 2022 from the State-Level Kabaddi competition at Vikhroli, Maharashtra. He was the winner of the Jijau Mahotsav State Level Kabaddi 2022 for Yuva Paltan in April of 2022. He won the Best Player of the Tournament in the April 2022 Kabaddi tournament held in Dharavi, Maharashtra, by the Maharashtra Tamil Kabaddi Club.
