Some Lesser Known Facts About Sanskriti Gupta
- Sanskriti used to play football in her childhood. She didn’t know that women’s cricket existed and used to go to an academy with her school seniors to play football. In an interview, she said,
I used to play gully cricket with my brother and I knew about men’s cricket, but honestly, I had no clue girls also play cricket professionally. I started as a footballer, and it was only after a few months that I came to know it was actually a cricket academy.
- Sanskriti has played football for her state team at the national level. Her father also used to play football at the district level.
- Sanskriti started playing cricket in the sixth standard.
- While growing up, Sanskriti didn’t even know that women’s cricket existed.
- Sanskriti started her cricketing career as a medium pacer but later switched to spin bowling. It was during training for a Senior Division-level match that she attempted spin bowling, which came off quite well.
