ControversiesFIR Filed Against Sashidhar Jagdishan (June 2025)
On June 7, 2025 the Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust, Mumbai filed an FIR against Sashidhar Jagdishan in an alleged fraud suit.
The Trust claimed that Jagdishan had received ₹2.05 crore in unaccounted payments and had overseen the improper transfer of ₹25 crore of Trust funds into HDFC Bank accounts. It also alleged that these actions were meant to harass a trustee’s father and secure special hospital privileges. The Trust had asked regulators including RBI, SEBI, and the Finance Ministry to suspend and prosecute him. HDFC Bank denied all charges, calling them baseless, malicious, and designed to hinder its efforts to recover a longstanding ₹65 crore loan tied to Splendour Gems Ltd. The bank said it would take legal action to defend its CEO and continue its recovery process. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police began a formal investigation following the FIR. [1] Indianexpress.com
