- Manoj Kumar once shared his love story with his wife, Shashi Goswami, in a media interview. He said that he first saw her during his college days when he went to his friend’s house in old Delhi to study.
- He mentioned that he had never met a girl with wrong intentions, but Shashi was different, and there was something special about her.
- Upon their first meeting, he could not take his eyes off her face, and for one and a half years, they only saw each other from a distance.
- With the help of some friends, Manoj and Shashi went to the Odeon Cinema in Delhi to watch the film Udankhatola. After that film outing, they started meeting more often.
- Manoj’s parents had no problem with their relationship. However, Shashi’s brother and mother were against it.
- To avoid getting caught, Manoj would go to his college terrace and Shashi to her house terrace, so they could see each other from a distance.
