Some Lesser Known Facts About Sindhu Loknath

  • She grew up in a middle-class family in Kodagu (Coorg), Karnataka.
  • She was inclined towards dance and performing arts since childhood. She loved participating in school competitions and cultural events. She also presented her school and college in various national and international dance competitions.
  • Sindhu’s family was very conservative and didn’t allow her for making a career in films.
  • While she was pursuing her Master’s degree at St. Joseph Arts and Science, College, Sindhu began appearing in TV commercials.
  • When her parents saw her TV commercial, they got very annoyed and asked her to return home. However, Sindhu refused to go back home and tried to convince her parents to make her career in acting.
  • Initially, her family did not agree to it and stopped talking to her for some time. However,  later they accepted her career choice.
  • Once in an interview, Sindhu said she didn’t like her look in her debut film Parichaya (2009), so she decided to leave the film industry and focus on her studies.
  • However, after receiving multiple offers from film directors, she decided to return to the film industry.
  • Before returning to the film industry, Sindhu began polishing her acting skills by watching two to three films a day. She also observed how other actors carried themselves on camera.
  • She has appeared in many Kannada films like  Drama (2012), Case No. 18/9 (2013), and Love in Mandya (2013).
  • Sindhu Loknath changed her name from Yahsika to Sindhu before entering the film industry.

  • In an interview, Sindhu revealed that if not an actor, she would have been a teacher.
  • In 2020, Sindhu, along with one of her friends, launched a brand of organic products for the face, body and hair named “Sinfully Myne”.
