Some Lesser Known Facts About Sonal Sehgal

Sonal Sehgal had worked as a copywriter for a few ad agencies in Delhi and as an assistant director for the infamous filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar before she started her career as an actress. She was also a part of a theatre group and acted in the play called ‘Mad About Money’.

She gained a lot of popularity from the film ‘Aashayein’ (2010), as she was praised for her performance in the movie.

In 2013 she took a break from acting and went to the University of New York to improve her skills in filmmaking and acting.

Sonal Sehgal after coming back produced a short film ‘Dancing in the Dark’ subjected to racism based on the skin colour and was much appreciated.

Sonal Sehgal attended the Cannes Film Festival 2016 along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor, for the world premiere of her film ‘Mantostaan’, which was critically acclaimed.
