Some Lesser Known Facts About Sreesanth
- Sreesanth, in the beginning, was a leg-spinner and considered Anil Kumble his role model, but his yorkers transformed him into a seamer later on.
- For a short while in 2006, Sreesanth changed his name to Sreesunth due to the slump in his form, but he later changed it to Sreesanth due to the sentimental reasons.
- After being slapped by off-spinner Harbhajan Singh at the end of IPL 2008, the seamer told in an interview, that everything between the two was fine while they had their dinner together. It was the media that aired the issue to a greater extent.
- Sreesanth along with Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila was found guilty of spot-fixing in the 2013 season of IPL while playing for Rajasthan Royals. BCCI imposed life ban from cricket on Sreesanth.
- He had always had the love for dance and after being thrown out of cricket, he began moving his limbs in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (2014), a dance reality show.
- In February 2015, he opened his shop named ‘S36 The Sports Store’ in Kochi.
- Delhi’s Patiala House Court in July 2015 cleared Sreesanth of the high-profile IPL match fixing charges.
- The white sunscreen has now been replaced by the greasepaint as the seamer prepared himself for the film industry. Team 5 (2016), a Malayalam film was the first big screen project for Sreesanth wherein he appeared as a Biker. He then featured alongside Richa Chaddha in Cabaret (2016) and is also working in a thriller film, Aksar 2, which is scheduled to release in 2017.
