- Sudesh Lehri grew up in Punjab, India.
- When he was kid, his father was an alcoholic, which affected his father’s business. Within a few years, his family’s financial condition became worst. [4]India Times
- In childhood, he did not even have even two pairs of chappals to wear.
- He then started doing various odd jobs. He used to sell tea, vegetables, and kulfi to support his family financially. Some days, his family even used to eat roti with salt and water.
- While he was working at a tea stall, he used to earn Rs 1 per day.
- While growing up, he developed an interest in watching films. He used to watch four films a day. Even though he did not have money to buy the tickets, he used to collect money from people for watching films.
- When he was only 16 years old, he had an arrange marriage.
- In an interview, he shared that he was once invited to perform an event where someone offered him dry fruits to eat. He packed the dry fruits and brought it to home to feed his hungry kids.
- Once, his financial condition became so worse that he used to ask his children to borrow food and money from relatives and neighbours.
- He was good at singing since his childhood. Later, he started performing in various orchestra stage shows and events. He used to earn Rs 1000 per stage show.
- During one of his orchestra performances, a drunk man slapped him. That day, he decided to quit performing in orchestra.
- He then borrowed money and released his Punjabi album ‘Saadi Vaari Atta Muk Gaya.’
- Later, he got an offer to appear in his debut Punjabi TV show for which he used to get Rs 1500 per episode.
- Gradually, Sudesh started getting more comedy live shows and events.
- In an interview, he shared that there was once a time when he thought of selling his house to meet his expenses.

- He gained immense popularity with the TV comedy shows ‘Comedy Circus’ (2008), ‘Comedy Circus 2’ (2009), and ‘Comedy Circus 3’ (2009) in which he was paired with Krishna Abhishek.
