  • Swami Sukhabodhanada is from a business family in Bangalore (now Bengaluru), Karnataka.
  • He was highly influenced by the teachings of Hindu scriptures like Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita from his childhood.
  • At a young age, he became interested in the discourses of Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati (the founder of the Chinmayananda Mission and Vishva Hindu Parishad). So, he joined Sandeepany Sadhanalaya and became his disciple at age 20.

  • His guru recognised his teaching skills and advised him to spread the message of the Upanishads.
  • According to him, on his travel to the Himalayas at the age of 20, he encountered many spiritual leaders and had many enlightening experiences.
  • At 28, he took the sannyasa diksha (monastic initiation ceremony) under the guidance of his other guru, Swami Dayanand Saraswati.
  • In 1982, Swami Sukhabodhananda established a non-profit charity organisation, named Prasanna Trust, in Bangalore.
  • The Trust provides many social services such as a home for homeless girls, food (Anna Daana), education (Gyana Daana), medical care (Aarogya Daana), and disaster relief.

  • He realised that rather than one-sided discourses, an interactive session was more effective and so, in 1987, he started an interactive, dialogue-oriented workshop called LIFE (Living in Freedom An Enquiry) which became extremely popular.
  • He gained popularity as a spiritual trainer in the corporate world, earning him the nickname Corporate Guru. He simplified complex corporate issues and found solutions through spirituality.

  • Swami Sukhabodhananda conducts various workshops and meditation camps for professionals and students.
  • In 2000, he was a special invitee at the United Nations Millennium Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders in New York City, USA.
