Controversy | In September 2023, Tanzim faced criticism for several Facebook posts that were labeled as misogynistic by various media sources. The public in the country became divided in their opinions on the matter. Many argued that, according to the country's constitution, everyone has the right to freedom of expression. However, Tanzim apologized to the Bangladesh Cricket Board, stating that he did not intend to hurt anyone and expressed regret to those who were offended. He refuted the accusation of being a misogynist, stating, 'My mother is a woman, so I can never be a misogynist.' Fellow cricketer Mehidy Hasan Miraz mentioned on social media that although Tanzim posted the comments in a 'wrongful' manner, he did not intend to convey any misogyny in his statement.
