- Tom Hartley is an English cricketer. In 2024, he gained attention on his test debut against India as he helped England defeat India by taking seven wickets in the second innings. He represents England in international tournaments and Lancashire in domestic cricket.
- During his childhood, he used to play football (soccer) and joined a professional football academy to become a footballer; however, the coaches at the academy later told him to change his sport as they did not find him suitable for football.
- He later started studying at Merchant Taylors’ School, Crosby which is famous for its cricketing culture. He started playing cricket there and later joined Lancashire Academy where he worked on his bowling skills.
- In 2013, he started playing for Ormskirk Cricket Club and went on to play for several age group teams in Lancashire before signing his first professional contract with Lancashire Cricket Club in March 2019.
