- Uday Saharan is an Indian cricketer who is known for being the captain of the U-19 Indian cricket team.
- Uday’s father wanted his son to become a cricketer because he could not fulfil his dream of becoming a cricketer when he was young. His father ran a cricket academy and also set up a cricket net in his backyard where Uday started learning to play cricket. In an interview, his father said that he never missed practice even if it was 1 degree cold in Sri Ganganagar.
- Uday, motivated by his father, shifted from his hometown to Fazilka. When he was eleven years old, he moved to Punjab and represented the team in U-14, U-16 and U-19.
- Uday played in the under-14 and under-16 teams in Fazilka and went to Bathinda to play in the under-19 team.
- He and his father used to travel back and forth every day to home. But within a year, Uday got selected for the Punjab Under-14 team camp, and then his father took him to Mohali. In an interview, his father said that when he reached Ludhiana after dropping him off, Uday started calling him and told him that he wanted to come back home. He started staying in the camp and enjoyed it a lot.
