  • Raina’s family was among the numerous Kashmiri Pandit households displaced from their residences in Kashmir during the early 1990s.
  • Raina has been good at mimicking since childhood. Growing up, he would entertain his parents by imitating his relatives. Recalling the same in an interview, he said,

    As a kid, I had a habit of mimicking everyone who came to my house. I’d observe guests and other relatives carefully. Then, after they left, I would mimic them before my parents and they would laugh at it.”

    Later, during his career as a TV actor, he would imitate Sanjeev Kumar and Nana Patekar to amuse his colleagues.

  • During his college years, he actively participated in the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
  • Before becoming an actor, Vineet Raina used to work in Maruti Udyog in Kashmir. At that time, he also appeared in a few serials on Doordarshan Kashmir.
  • After a while, he got tired of his job at Maruti Udyog and moved to Mumbai for better job opportunities. In Mumbai, he applied for jobs in companies like Wipro, ICICI etc before securing a role in the TV show Mulk (2003).

  • In 2007, he gained immense popularity for playing the role of Veer Khurana, Durga and Mr Khurana’s elder son in the daily soap Maayka – Saath Zindagi Bhar Ka on Zee TV. The role earned him a Zee Rishtey Award in the category of Favorite Jija Sala/Sali Rishta, which he shared with actress Neha Bamb.
